Announcements and Events

It is election time at the Club – if you are interested in running for the Board or an officer position, please contact President Bob or Glen Bahr.

Board Meetings will be Third Monday of the Month at Savoy Restaurant at 5:15 p.m.

If you can cover a 6 pm or 8 pm shift for ringing the bell at Wal Mart on Saturday December 12, please see Phil Trela.

Please remember that the meeting next week is at the Stanwix Men’s Club for the Children’s Christmas party and that it does not include lunch for the adults.

Many thanks to these sponsors of the Children’s Christmas party: Wal-Mart, the Ocuto Family, Fidelis, First Niagara Bank, Sue Pollak and all those who have worked so hard to make sure these children have a Merry Christmas.  Great job to Grace Bottini, Dee Swinney, Donna Burch and the rest of that fantastic committee.

Program

The Barbershop Quartet “Firestorm”

We were treated to a fantastic performance from our own Glen Bahr and his barbershop quartet “Firestorm” which is part of the New Horizons Barbershop Chorus chapter.  Joining Glen were Art Zelesnlkar, Chuck Harter and Peter Bleiberg.  They explained some of the history behind barbershop quartets and performed a delightful medley of songs ranging from those of the heart, Christmas songs and patriotic.  Speaking of history, did you know that another Rotarian, Dick Kahler, was a barbershopper for 30 years? Dick even “jammed” a bit with Firestorm at the end of the meeting.

Thank you gentlemen for a wonderful performance.
