Program – Peter Vogelaar,
Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees
Peter Vogelaar and Alison Swarts were here from the Mohawk Valley
Resource Center for Refugees.
Peter is the Executive Director and spoke to us about how the Resource
Center helps find new refugees apartments, helps them to learn English and find
work, learn the culture and our transportation system. They also help the refugees establish
themselves and obtain the appropriate services such as SSA/DSS and get
educational and vocational training.
They help refugees from Afghanistan, Bosnia, Burma, Cambodia, and many
other countries. The Mohawk Valley
has greatly benefitted in many ways from this influx of individuals who
contribute to our community in many ways.
Thank you Peter and Alison!
