Program – Oneida County District Attorney
Scott McNamara
Rome Rotary welcomed Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara as
the program today. Scott started
out his career at the District Attorney’s office a number of years ago working
right here in Rome City Court. He
moved up through the ranks and has prosecuted numerous high profile cases in
his time at the District Attorney’s office and now heads the office. He talked about the many facets of what
it takes to prosecute a case from arrest through trial. He discussed the standards of proof,
the constitutional checks and balances and the many other procedural aspects of
a case such as the felony hearing, plea bargaining, trial and sentencing. Thank you Scott for a great program!
