Club Leadership Plan

Building on the success of the District Leadership Plan, the RI Board of Directors approved the Club Leadership Plan in 2004 as the recommended administrative structure for Rotary clubs. The plan is designed to strengthen Rotary clubs by focusing on building continuity among leadership, achieving consensus for decision making and planning, and involving all members in club projects and activities. Rotary clubs should follow nine steps to implement the plan, which can be adapted to meet the club’s specific needs and culture. The plan also includes a streamlined committee structure focusing on club administration, membership, public relations, service projects, and the Rotary Foundation.

[Editors Note: The Rome Rotary Club was one of the first clubs in this District to adopt the new club structure.

Announcements and Events

·  Duck tickets for Canalfest are being distributed by Dave Kobernuss. Canalfest is our club’s biggest fund raiser, and the Duck Race is a major part of the event. Success depends on the participation of each member of the club. Please sell those tickets and help Rome Rotary to continue providing the quality programs that we have brought to the community in past years. If you need an explanation of the duck race, have other questions or need more tickets, please contact Dave.

·  Our newest international student will arrive in Rome in August from Venezuela as part of the RI Youth Exchange Program. Host parents are needed to provide a home and family for Juan Carlos Rincon Moreno for three to four months. This is a wonderful and enriching opportunity to personally participate in international friendship and understanding. Hosts families do not need to be Rotarians. Please contact Chris or Nancy Neiley, nneiley@aol.com, 827-4303.

·  Dues for 2009–10 are due by 1 Jul. The RRC will match the first $100 of any new Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member. (See Dennis for dues. See Bill Tuthill for information on The Rotary Foundation.)
