Call to Order & Roll Call (Quorum = 8): President-elect Herrmann called the meeting to order at noon.

Previous Minutes (Townsend): The minutes of the last meeting were approved with one minor change (“Agenda” to be “Minutes”).

President’s Report (Townsend):

Discussion of Rome Chamber Membership. The cost is $128 per year. The Board unanimously approved joining the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce (Latimer/Butters).

Discussion of sponsoring an RACC Business After Hours in the Fall. Tabled until July Meeting.

Secretary’s Report (Schonewetter):

·     Member proposals. Karen (“Candy”) Fay (Upstate Abstracts) proposed by Maria Dailey; Joyce Midlam (Retired HR Manager) proposed by Bill Tuthill; Sam Pendergrast (Presbyterian Minister) proposed by June Sperlik. Also, Ralph Mirabelli (retired school principal) proposed by Mike Occhipinti. The Board unanimously approved all of these proposed members (Kobernuss/Latimer).

·     Leaves of absence. None.

·     Resignations. None.

·     Other matters. District Conference, 25–27 Sep — Karen & Bill Tuthill signed up so far. Ron Townsend said he would attend the Saturday Session.

Treasurer’s Report (Latimer): The Treasurer’s Report was received and duly recorded.

2009–10 Budget Presentation and Discussion. The Proposed Budget shows a $6K deficit, even after Bob Herrmann and others went through it line-by-line. Adjustments were: 1) Expected dues. 2) Added a fund raiser. 3) Canalfest is uncertain as always. 4) Eliminated birthday table. 5) Children’s Christmas Party — shows $0 now. Some discussion that Children’s Christmas Party and Canalfest showing $0 does not reflect sufficient detail. Budget should show projected incomes and disbursements separately, not just the net. Ron asked Greg Mattacola to work on the Children’s Christmas Party part of the budget and Dave Kobernuss to work on Canalfest part for next meeting

Area Reports:

·     Membership (Carey). (Recruiting, orientations, inductions, and mentoring.) No report.

Healthcare Professional of the Year (Carnevale). The program is all set for the meeting on 6/16.

Roses for the Living Report & Discussion (Burns). Darlene Burns reported that over 100 people attended with about 30 Rotarians in attendance. It was a struggle to get Rotarians there this year. It was an excellent event.

There will be no pirates this year because of illness and unemployment on the part of the Pirates. There will be three new rides. Who Let the Dogs Out dog show is shifting from a City event to be a Canalfest event. No Tugboat Urger this year because of previous commitment.
